Celtic have taken Italian midfielder Andrea Capone on trial.

The 26-year-old is a free agent after leaving Cagliari and is now looking to seal a move to Scotland with Celtic

"We are here for discussions but it is still very early," Capone's agent Fulvio Marucco told the Scottish Daily Mail.

"I think we will be here for two or three days and we will see what happens.

"Celtic want to have a look at Andrea but I can't say too much. I don't know yet if he will play a game."

Meanwhile, Czech keeper Jaroslav Drobny has revealed how he shunned a move to Celtic before signing for Hertha Berlin.

The former Fulham keeper claims he was offered a deal by Celtic, but he opted for the Bundesliga instead.

"Hertha's offer was a better one than Celtic's," he told the Daily Record.

"But the most important point was that the Bundesliga is a far stronger league than the Scottish Premier."
