Gulls turn down bids for pair

Chris Hargreaves has revealed Torquay have dismissed 'cheeky' enquiries for Krystian Pearce and Courtney Cameron.

Defender Pearce, their player of the year, and 21-year-old winger Cameron are both under contract for next season and Hargreaves says he will not be 'giving them away'. "I have had a couple of enquiries for Krystian and Courtney," he told the Herald Express. "They were tentative calls, from clubs who thought they might be able to take them off our wage-bill - a bit cheeky, if you ask me. "I told them 'No way'. Krystian and Courtney are two players who could be massively important for us next season. "They are under contract, and I'm looking forward to working with them again. "If any club wants either of them, there's no point in calling unless they can come up with money - serious money. We're not here to give players like them away."
