Craig earns longer Gulls stay

Torquay are impressed with Nathan Craig and have decided to keep the former Everton player at Plainmoor for the rest of the season.

The midfielder, 20, has spent the past two weeks being assessed by the Gulls and has impressed enough to extend his stay until May. Craig, who came through the youth ranks at Everton, will be eligible for all of Torquay's first team games in that time, subject to completion of the necessary paperwork. Manager Martin Ling told the club's official website: "Nathan has done really well in his trial and deserves the opportunity to show us what he can do over an extended period. "This arrangement allows us to make a proper assessment on whether to offer Nathan a long-term deal in the summer."
