Southend United have agreed a deal to sign striker Elliot Benyon from League Two rivals Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee.
Benyon has spent the first half of the season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers and has scored once in 13 appearances in all competitions for the League One club.
He has now agreed a permanent exit away from Swindon after accepting an 18-month contract at Southend, with a further year's option in the club's favour.
The deal will be officially completed on New Year's Day, meaning the 24-year-old will be eligible to play in Monday's game against Dagenham & Redbridge.
Benyon only joined Swindon from Torquay United in January, but was deemed surplus to requirements after Paolo Di Canio took charge as manager back in the summer.
