Lathrope confident at home

Midfielder Damon Lathrope is confident no-one except Torquay enjoys playing football at Plainmoor.

The Devon side boast one of the most remote home grounds in the Football League, and 22-year-old Lathrope admitted he would hate the prospect of a journey into the deep south west if he were a part of any other club's squad. That, he said, means the Gulls must capitalise on the advantage handed to them by geography and claim as many points as possible on the road in their quest to reach the League Two play-offs. "We want to pick up as many points away from home as we can, because I really don't think many teams are going to take points off us at home," he said. "It's a long old way to come if they're coming down on the day of the game. When you're playing you don't really want four or five hours travelling before you play. There's not many teams who would want to come down here. "I wouldn't want to have to go down to play Torquay."
