Cherries boss eager for midfielder to accept new deal
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond is hopeful of persuading midfielder Shaun Cooper to sign a new deal at the Fitness First Stadium.
The 24-year-old joined the Cherries in 2005 and proved his versatility last season by playing in several positions, but he is currently out of contract.
Crewe announced that the former Portsmouth trainee was set to sign for them on a free transfer by the end of last week, although they have confirmed that the deal has not been completed.
Bournemouth have offered Cooper a new contract and Bond is eager to keep him at the club as the Cherries aim to earn an immediate return to League One following relegation last season.
"I hope he is not about to join anybody other than us," he told the Bournemouth Daily Echo.
"I'm sure there will be interest for Shaun, as there will be for one or two other players, but we've made him a good offer and I want to keep him."
