Torquay have released four players in preparation for next season in League Two.

After gaining promotion last season, The Gulls suffered an immediate return to League Two after being relegated on the last day of the season.

A defeat at Colchester, coupled with wins for both MK Dons and Oldham sent Torquay crashing out of League One, and now they are preparing for next season.

Defender Lee Canoville, striker Zema Abbey, midfielder Stuart Boardley and former Dundee United goalkeeper Paul Jarvie have all been released by Leroy Rosenior.

Meanwhile, Alex Russell, Matt Hockley, Martin Phillips and Darren Garner have all been offered new 12-month deals with their current contracts expiring at the end of the season.
