TORQUAY UNITED have agreed personal terms with seven of their first team squad, who were all out-of-contract this summer.

Arjan van Heusden, Tony Bedeau, Lee Canoville, Alex Russell and Jason Fowler have agreed two-year deals, while Jo Kuffour and Matt Hockley have come to agreement on 12-month contracts.

Hockley, van Heusden, Bedeau, Canoville and Russell have signed their contracts, whilst Fowler and Kuffour are due to put pen-to-paper.

The club are also in talks with Kevin Dearden, Steve Woods and Sean Hankin as they look to secure their first team squad for next season.

"We're more or less there in terms of keeping the squad together, which is what I wanted, because I feel that they've had a good year together now and it's an excellent platform to go on and improve from," said chief Leroy Rosenior.

"It's a big boost for us, I know the players now, I'm a year on with them, they're a year on with me, and I feel this is a great achievement to have signed the players.

"The fans should be pleased, it's a massive boost for the club that those players who have performed so well this year are going to stay with us - and now we're looking to build on this season."
