Sky Sports understands Rochdale have agreed a deal to sign Macclesfield Town striker George Donnelly.
Rochdale have moved for the former Liverpool trainee as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Spotland boss John Coleman is thought to be an admirer of Donnelly and sees the 23-year-old as someone who will spearhead their bid to win promotion back to League One following relegation to League Two.
Macclesfield are resigned to losing their top scorer following their relegation from League Two and Rochdale have moved to offer Donnelly the chance to stay in the Football League.
Donnelly is thought to have agreed a two-year deal at Spotland after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
