Macc move delights Beardsley

Former Derby and Notts County defender Jason Beardsley has spoken of his delight at joining Macclesfield on a one-year deal.

The 21-year-old full-back, who can play on both flanks, came through the ranks at Pride Park and made his Football League debut on loan at Notts County in 2008. Beardsley, who also had a spell in Florida with FC Tampa, joins the Silkmen after impressing boss Gary Simpson in a trial spell at Moss Rose. He said: "I've enjoyed my time here on trial and got on well with all of the other lads. "It's a great bunch of players and the team spirit is amazing and there's a lot of lads of a similar age which always helps you feel at home."
