Macclesfield are facing an injury crisis with three players breaking their legs in recent days.

Defender Andrew Teague has fractured his tibia and fibula and has undergone surgery and will be immobilised for up to three months before he begins some intensive rehab.

Goalkeeper Jonny Brain has also fractured his tibia. He is set to undergo an operation and, like Teague, will not begin rehab for three months.

Jimmy McNulty broke his leg in training but he does not require surgery. He does face a lengthy spell on the sidelines and will be out of action until well into the New Year.

A further blow for the Silkmen is that on-loan winger Simon Wiles has returned to Blackpool as he bids to recover from cruciate ligament damage sustained in the derby match against Stockport.

Martin Bullock also has a minor hip complaint, while on a more positive note Dave Morley and shotstopper Tommy Lee (abductor) are progressing well in recovering from their injuries.

Meanwhile, Blackpool striker John Murphy's loan spell at Macclesfield has been extended.

The 30-year-old initially joined on a one-month loan which has now been extended until January.

Murphy has lately been troubled by a back injury and has yet to get his name on the scoresheet after one start and three substitute appearances for the Silkmen.
