Alan Navarro has extended his Macclesfield Town stay while the club have sealed Matt McNeil's permanent transfer.

Navarro impressed with the League Two outfit last season and is now eager for the new campaign to get underway.

"I am looking forward to the new campaign. Hopefully we can be in real contention this season," said Navarro to the club's official website.

Manager Brian Horton is delighted Navarro has stayed and believes he could be a key player this season.

"Obviously I am really pleased that Alan has signed for us," Horton said.

"He made a big impression last season and has the qualities I need to drive for success in League Two."

Meanwhile, the club have wrapped up the permanent transfer of Matt McNeil from Hereford Town.

"I'm so pleased to be here. I've felt at home at Macclesfield since I joined recently," said McNeil.

"I'm looking forward to a proper pre-season training stint for the first time and I think I will be better this season."
