Accrington hand trio pro deals

Accrington have offered professional deals to three of the League Two club's scholars.

Teenagers Max Hazeldine, Kealan Steenson and Keenan Quansah will get the chance to work their way into John Coleman's first team. The trio impressed in last year's FA Youth Cup run to the fifth round alongside team-mate Connor Mahoney, who is now on Blackburn's books. "You wouldn't ever give players contracts for the sake of saying you'd brought players through into the first-team squad," said Coleman. "They have to be good enough and these three lads are exciting young players. They all have different attributes and they are all capable of becoming good players. "Whether they can make the step up to league football is for us to find out in the next year. "I hope they can start learning from training with the first team straight away. "We've always tried to encourage integration between the first team and the youth team and that'll be more evident next season. "I think the youth-team players definitely benefit from having some exposure to the first team and I don't think it should be limited to just a couple of players. They should all get their opportunity."
