Coleman happy with fifty

John Coleman is delighted Accrington have hit the magical 50 points following their 3-1 win over Carlisle United.

The Reds beat the relegation-threatened Cumbrians at the Store First Stadium with Piero Mingoia, Josh Windass and substitute Seamus Conneely - with his first league goal - on the score sheet. Kyle Dempsey netted a consolation goal in injury-time for the visitors but Cumbrians manager Keith Curle was furious, keeping his side in the dressing room for over an hour after the final whistle as around 1,000 of their fans trudged back to Cumbria disappointed. "It's relief and joy as you always want to get to 50 points," said Coleman after his side won their first game in nine attempts. "It was probably our worst performance in six weeks but we scored two good goals, the third one was lucky, and we did get a great deal of luck which we capitalised on. Carlisle had no luck at all but I am just disappointed we conceded at the end. "They are a strong physical side but we battled well. I think Carlisle will get out of it - it's a great sight in football seeing a huge away following supporting their team. "For us, we have got to the magic 50 points and now we want to put the belt and braces on it. I want to win every game I manage and I want to get the players into that mentality as we still have some big games coming up."
