Midfielder looking forward to linking up with relegated Dragons

Accrington Stanley midfielder Paul Carden has agreed to join relegated Wrexham on a free transfer. Carden has made just four appearances for Stanley since joining John Coleman's side from Burton Albion last summer. He has spent most of the season on loan at Cambridge United and featured in last week's Blue Square Premier play-off final defeat to Exeter City. The 29-year-old will be playing non-league football again next season after accepting a two-year contract with Wrexham. "I looked at the club, brought my family down to visit the place and met with the coaching staff, after which I decided that this was where I wanted to move for the next stage in my career," Carden told Wrexham's official website. "I'm sure that the gaffer will bring in the right players to make sure that Wrexham is right up there and challenging. "Now I'm really just looking forward to getting started. I know the old season has only just finished, but you start itching to get back involved with a new challenge and I can't wait."
