Wrexham have swooped to sign midfielder Dean Bennett from League Two club Kidderminster Harriers.

The 26-year-old moves to the North Wales club on a two-year contract after deciding not to take up a similar deal with the Aggborough outfit.

The former West Bromwich Albion player looked to have verbally agreed a new contract with the Worcestershire-based club, with Harriers boss Jan Molby having declared in May that the player had re-signed for the club.

However, Bennett looks to have turned his back on Kidderminster in order to move to Denis Smith's side at The Racecourse Ground.

The arrival of Bennett comes as midfielder Matthew Crowell signs a new deal with the club while defender Dennis Lawrence has earned himself an extension to his work permit.

Crowell has penned a one-year contract with Wrexham while Trinidad & Tobago international Lawrence is now free to sign a new three-year deal with the club.
