Wrexham starlet Craig Morgan is yet to sign a new contract with the club and a number of Premiership and First Division sides are now gearing up to make a move.

The 18-year-old is rated as one of the best young prospects in Welsh football and has been tracked by a number of scouts since he made his first team debut in 2002.

Morgan has now established himself as a first team member at The Racecourse Ground and has played nearly 30 times for Denis Smith's side.

However, Morgan - who is out of contract in the summer - has not yet been offered new terms.

At least four sides from The Premiership and Division One are gearing up bids to try and lure Morgan away from Wrexham.

The Second Division outfit would be due compensation for Morgan if he left without signing a new deal this summer.

The player's agent Lee Payne confirmed there was interest in his client, but would not reveal the interested parties.

"There are a number of clubs interested in Craig, but nothing is decided," Payne confirmed.

"As yet we have not had a contract offer from Wrexham."
