WREXHAM have been boosted by the news that the Trinidad & Tobago pair of striker Hector Sam and midfielder Carlos Edwards have been granted new work permits to continue playing at the Racecourse Ground.

A nine-man panel agreed to The Dragons' request to extend the duo's work permits for another two years.

With the North Wales club just two points away from the play-off places in Division Three, manager Denis Smith now knows the duo will figure in his future plans at the club.

"I'm relieved that the hearing came down on our side," Smith told the club's official website.

"Both players have made a good contribution to the club since their arrival, and we would like to think that they will continue to do so in the years ahead."
