Paul Tisdale was fuming that Exeter were not awarded a late penalty during their 1-1 draw at League Two play-off rivals Bury.
Arron Davies gave the visitors a 13th-minute lead, only for former Exeter striker Danny Nardiello to equalise on the stroke of half-time. Then Joe Riley's last-ditch challenge prevented David Wheeler getting a shot away but Tisdale felt referee Nigel Miller should have penalised the defender. "It's probably the key decision," he said. "He got clipped while shooting and stayed on his feet. We ask players to stay on their feet so it incenses me when the penalty's not given. "Do we have to send people hurtling to the floor to get a foul? Do we have to tell players to dive and roll around? "It wasn't a bad decision for football, it was shocking. I'm at a loss at what to say to the players. "If it's outside the box it's a sending-off and if it's inside it's a penalty. To get neither is a travesty. "It's decisions like that which turn you away from the game. "But we're pleased to get a point because Bury are one of the best teams in the league. "We set up to defend and catch them on the counter-attack and, largely, that's what we did. We worked hard for each other and had the odd opportunity." Bury boss David Flitcroft saw things differently, however. "It wasn't a penalty, a million per cent," he said. "You've always got to respect a point, home or away. But given the balance of play, the amount of entries we made into the box and the chances we created, I'm disappointed not to come away with all three. "We completely dominated and controlled the game but we've not won. "We had enough control and possession in the final third to finish them off but we didn't. That's what has frustrated me the most. "There were cries from the crowd to do something different but we know what we're doing."
