Dave Flitcroft was frustrated after Bury missed chances to ease their relegation fears in a 0-0 draw against 10-man Accrington.
Laurence Wilson was sent off in the 31st minute for Stanley but the Shakers could not get past their in-form on-loan Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.
"It's a point and a clean sheet away from home but the overall feeling is frustration," said Flitcroft.
"The sending off killed the tempo of the game and it didn't suit us. We did everything to score but you have got to give Accrington credit as they defended resolutely.
"We dominated and dictated the game against 10 and 11 men but we have got to get more streetwise and savvy as there is more than one way to win a game.
"I am seeing an improvement in us but we have got to be a bit more creative. We haven't played for a while and we were a little rusty and lacked a bit of sharpness but this will blow the cobwebs away for us to go again."
