Adams makes excitement promise

Rotherham winger Nicky Adams has promised to excite the fans as he looks to make an impact following his deadline-day move.

The 27-year-old made his Millers debut in Saturday's 2-1 win over Stevenage to end a frustrating first two weeks at his new club where he joined too late to play in the victory over Leyton Orient and then saw last week's clash at Colchester postponed. But after finally getting on the pitch against Boro, Adams wants to help his new side maintain their promotion bid and give the fans something to cheer. "I just like to try and excite really and run at players and create chances for the strikers," he said. "If I can chip in with a few goals that will be nice but I like to attack and if I can get bums off seats then I'll be happy." Adams has penned a two-and-a-half year contract to stay in South Yorkshire and once he knew of Rotherham's renewed interest last month after a pre-Christmas deal fell through, he knew this was the only place he wanted to be. "The gaffer has been interested for quite a while and they tried to get the deal done before Christmas when the loan window was open but Crawley said no so I just got on with my football," he added. "The interest came back in January and as soon as I knew about it I had no hesitation really. You see where the club is going, the facilities they have got and the stadium it was a no-brainer. "I had two or three other teams interested but once the bid had been accepted from Rotherham there was only one place I wanted to come. "I am delighted to sign because it is a big club and it is nice to be at a big club again. I have worked hard to get back to a club like this and hopefully I can get on the pitch and show what I can do."
