The Shakers skipper, who missed the closing weeks of the campaign due to a hernia problem, was voted player of the season by both his team-mates and the club's supporters before picking up the goal of the season gong for a stunning strike at Notts County in February. On-loan Leeds midfielder Zac Thompson scooped the young player of the year award.
