Dedicated Dale please Coleman

Manager John Coleman praised Rochdale's work ethic but refused to get carried away after beating Blackburn in a friendly.

Coleman fielded a different out-field line-up in each half on Wednesday night and the decisive moment came after the interval when Joe Thompson capitalised on hesitancy in the Rovers defence. Dale face further Championship opposition in the form of Hull at Spotland on Saturday, and Coleman is satisfied by the progress being made following last season's relegation from League One "Obviously you want to win games but you don't read too much into it," he told Press Association Sport. "You're looking to get certain things out of it. "Blackburn showed at times in the second half why they are a couple of levels above us and I think on another night we possibly would have conceded. "But give the lads their due, they stuck to their guns and in the end got everything that they wanted out of the game."
