Sky Sports understands Bury are poised to sign former West Brom forward Lateef Elford-Alliyu.
Elford-Alliyu, who enjoyed a spell on loan at Bury last season, is available on a free transfer after leaving West Brom earlier this summer.
The 20-year-old scored two goals in 13 appearances for Bury and manager Richie Barker was keen to bring him back to Gigg Lane.
A number of other clubs were thought to be chasing Elford-Alliyu, but Bury have won the race for his signature.
Elford-Alliyu is believed to have agreed a one-year deal to make the move to Bury.
