Jalal eyes Cherries response

Goalkeeper Shwan Jalal is confident Bournemouth can bounce back quickly from the derby defeat to Southampton.

The Cherries, whose fantastic start to life in League One sees them still sitting in third position in the table, went down 2-0 at St Mary's on Saturday thanks to two Rickie Lambert penalties in the first match between the south-coast rivals for 50 years. The defeat was Eddie Howe's side's third of the season and Jalal says they can follow up the loss with a positive result against top-of-the-table Brighton at the weekend. He told the club's official website: "We have to look at ourselves and see how we can bounce back. After the Oldham defeat we bounced back with two wins, so we now have to pick ourselves up and go again. "That's the beauty of our team in that we never know when we're beaten and as a group, we have to keep on going and pushing each other on. "There will be a bigger build up to Saturday than usual as the game is on TV, but we're footballers and we're in the media spotlight and we just have to concentrate on the game. We have been back on the training ground getting ready for Brighton and that's all we're thinking about now."
