Scott delighted to bring in midfielder from Leicester

Brentford have completed the signing of long-time transfer target Nicky Adams from Leicester City. Skysports.com revealed earlier in the day that Adams was in talks to finally secure a move to League One side Brentford. The midfielder was wanted by Bees boss Andy Scott earlier in the summer, but a combination of factors saw a deal fail to materialise. However, Scott has now been able to bring Adams to Griffin Park and is delighted to have added the player to his squad. "I was genuinely disappointed earlier this summer when we were unable to complete Nicky's transfer," Scott told the club's official website. "It was, however, the right decision at the time for all parties to apply some common sense and patience and review the position once Nicky had got back into the pre-season schedule with some time on the training pitch. "He played throughout Leicester's pre-season programme without reaction to the injury and I am delighted that we have finally managed to bring him on board. "Nicky has a proven pedigree at this level and will undoubtedly strengthen the ability of the squad."
