Wood and Hussey sign permanent deals at the Ricoh Arena

Coventry boss Chris Coleman has spoken of his delight at landing defensive duo Richard Wood and Chris Hussey on permanent deals. The pair had initially moved to the Ricoh Arena on loan from Sheffield Wednesday and AFC Wimbledon respectively. But the Sky Blues have now signed the pair on three-and-a-half-year deals for undisclosed fees. Boss Coleman is delighted to have secured the services of the duo, believing Wood is the finished article while Hussey has bags of potential.

Target

He told the club's official website: "Richard Wood has always been a target for me ever since I arrived at Coventry so I'm delighted we now have him. "He is one of the best defenders in the Championship as his performances for us to date have shown. "We brought Chris Hussey as one for the future because he is, in my opinion, the best left-back in the Conference. "In the short time he has been here we have already had three or four enquiries from other clubs asking if we will let him out on loan and we have told them no. "In Chris we feel we have got someone who is going to turn into a very good player, it's all in front of him and we are looking forward to continually working with him."
