Promising young striker Joe Thompson has signed a new 12-month contract with Rochdale.
The 20-year-old has progressed through the ranks at Spotland, where he made his debut in May 2006.
He has gone on to make 62 appearances for the club so far, scoring six goals, and is delighted to have committed himself to a new deal.
Thompson told the club's official website: "Of course I am happy and this means I can look forward to my third season as a professional.
"Last season saw me involved in more games and scoring a few goals but it is now about continuing to improve and making the step up to the next level."
