Shakers seal striker deal

Bury have completed the signing of striker Andrew Mangan.

Bury have completed the signing of striker Andrew Mangan.

Mangan was released by Accrington at the end of last season after starting just six games for Stanley.

Now the former Blackpool man has been given the chance of a fresh start at Gigg Lane.

Mangan will compete with Andy Bishop and Glynn Hurst for a place in attack.

Meanwhile, the club have handed a trial to Sierra Leone international Ahmed Deen.

The 22-year-old full back has played in England before with Peterborough and has had several stints with non-league clubs.

He has now been given the chance to win a move to Bury, after his national coach Leroy Rosenior tipped off Bury director of football Keith Alexander about him.

"Leroy suggested that we take a look at Ahmed," Alexander said.

"He has got a lot of pace, which is very important for your wing-back, and it is obviously an area of the team where we are lacking."

One man who will not be at Gigg Lane next term is Chris Brass - who has signed for Conference North side Hyde United.

The 32-year-old will continue his role as the club's centre of excellence manager.
