Mansfield Town's Giles Coke wants to commit his long-term future to The Stags.

The 20-year-old is hoping to put a disappointing season behind him by signing a new deal at Field Mill.

Coke has been ruled out for the season after suffering cartilage damage during January's 3-2 defeat to Accrington Stanley.

The midfielder says talks with boss Billy Dearden are already underway and he hopes to put pen-to-paper on a new deal soon.

"My contract is up and I have already begun negotiating a new deal, so hopefully I'll be here next season," said Coke.

"I would like to think it can be sorted fairly soon.

"It has been an up-and-down season for me and when I come back I will have something to prove, not only for the fans but also myself."
