Five out-of-contract Mansfield Town men have signed new deals with the club, and have returned with the squad for pre-season training.
Goalkeeper Jason White, defenders Jon Olav Hjelde and Gareth Jelleyman, attacking midfielder Callum Lloyd and striker Chris Beardsley have all signed new one-year deals at Field Mill.
Midfielder Simon Brown (pictured) is yet to make a final decision on his offer from The Stags, but boss Peter Shirtliff is confident of keeping the 22-year-old.
"Simon Brown has the option on his contract but he is mulling over the renewed terms," Shirtliff explained.
"There are no problems anticipated and I would expect he will be signing very shortly."
The manager has not finished yet though, and is looking to strengthen still further before the club's imminent assault on League Two begins on August 5.
"We are in negotiations with a couple of players," Shirtliff added.
"It is a bit of a process and one of them has got to deal with a few personal issues before going any further, but I am hopeful of making good progress by the end of the week."
Bringing in some competition for White between the sticks is one option, as Town look to improve on their 16th-placed finish last term.
