Wright: Willing to stay

Sky Bet

Mark Wright says he would be willing to stay as Chester City manager providing owner Stephen Vaughan remains at the club.

Chester have been relegated to the non-league ranks after winning just two of their final 24 games of the League Two season.

Vaughan has suggested he would be willing to sell Chester to the right buyer and that has sparked rumours over Wright's future.

The former England international is in his third spell as Blues boss and is prepared to continue in the role as long as Vaughan does not relinquish control.

"I've said all along that if Stephen Vaughan stays then I'll stay, but if that doesn't happen then I'll seriously review it," Wright told the Evening Leader.

"I want to stay in football. If I'd have learned my lesson and kept my mouth shut at times then I could have been in the Championship by now.

"I don't want to go down and manage in the Blue Square because I've been there and done that one, but if Stephen Vaughan stays then we'll stay together."
