Chester City chairman Stephen Vaughan hopes to keep John Danby and David Artell at the club beyond the end of their current deals.

Defender Artell (pictured) is out of contract at the end of the season, while goalkeeper Danby still has a year to run on his current deal.

Vaughan is keen to begin negotiations with both players, who have played integral roles for the League Two club this term.

"John Danby has had an outstanding season, and, despite him having 12 months left on his existing contract, we want to talk to him about a new package," Vaughan told the club's official website.

"Artell is out of contract this summer, so hopefully we can keep him here."

Meanwhile, Kevin Roberts, Shaun Kelly, Neil Carroll and Sean Newton have all been offered professional deals with the Deva Stadium club.
