Chester defender David Artell is eager to extend his stay at the club.
Artell, who has been at Chester since 2002, is out of contract in the summer but is hoping to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
He admits he is in no rush but has entered initial discussions with manager Mark Wright.
"I've spoken to the gaffer and nothing concrete has come about but we're in dialogue," he explained.
"He's had his hands full trying to get players in and I've said to him that I'm not a top priority and I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.
"Next year we've got to get the squad together and add to the four or five that come in this summer half way through the season, kick on from there and have a successful season."
