Chester City pulled away from the bottom of League Two with a 2-1 victory at home to Wrexham.
The result was a reverse of the score line when the two sides met earlier in the season and means Wrexham have now lost their last four outings.
The first half had little on offer from either side, both teams failing to break down the stubborn defences.
The deadlock was finally broken on 56 minutes when Ben Davies converted a penalty after Gregg Blundell was fouled in the area.
Wrexham equalised with twenty minutes remaining through Lee McEvilly but were unable to keep the scores level for long as Derek Asamoah found the back of the net just five minutes later.
With the win, Chester climb three places up the table and are now five points clear of the relegation zone.
