Barnet, Swindon, Cheltenham, AFC Wimbledon, Oxford, Bournemouth and Southend all progressed in the Southern Section of the JPT Trophy on Tuesday night.
Barnet are through after coming from a goal behind to secure a 3-1 win at Gillingham. Garry Richards opened the scoring, but Izale McLeod bagged a brace for the visitors.
Jake Jervis was the hero for Swindon as his double lifted the Robins to a 2-1 success at Exeter. The home side were 2-0 down at the break and Daniel Nardiello restored hope, but it proved only a consolation.
Cheltenham eased into the Southern quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory at Wycombe. Goals from Darryl Duffy and Brian Smikle had the visitors in control before Kevin Betsy responded. Duffy's second late on settled the contest.
Oxford continued the joy for the away teams on Tuesday night after getting the better of Aldershot. A second-half quick-fire double from Robert Hall and Deane Smalley ensured the Us progressed.
Southend also enjoyed success on the road as they claimed a 3-1 win at Dagenham & Redbridge courtesy of Ryan Hall's brace. Damien McCrory levelled matters in the 66th minute, but Hall restored Southend's lead before Neil Harris added the icing on the cake.
AFC Wimbledon are though following a 4-3 penalty shoot-out victory over Stevenage after a 2-2 draw. The home side were seconds from success before Mark Roberts' last-gasp leveller. Lawrie Wilson saw his penalty saved in the shoot-out which decided the tie.
Yeovil produced a second-half comeback against Bournemouth but it was not enough to prevent their exit from the competition as the visitors lost 3-2. Marc Pugh helped himself to a first-half brace, although Max Ehmer set up a nervy finish late on.
