Striker happy to be back after shoulder injury

Brentford striker Charlie MacDonald is keen to discuss a new contract to extend his time at Griffin Park. MacDonald joined the Bees in 2008 from Southend United and scored 18 goals last season before his campaign was ended in March by a dislocated shoulder. He scored his first goal since returning to fitness against Bristol Rovers last weekend and is now hoping to earn a fresh deal with the League One club. "It was mentioned at the end of last season, but nothing has been said since," said MacDonald, whose current deal expires next summer. "They were probably waiting for me to return to full fitness. "But now I'm back and scoring again, hopefully we can get something sorted as I'm very happy at the club and would like to stay. "The shoulder is feeling good and perhaps even stronger than before. I've taken a few tumbles on it and it's been all right, and it doesn't even cross my mind in games now."
