Grimsby Town are checking out four new trialists as they look for players to bolster their squad.

New manager Russell Slade is aiming to stamp his own mark on the playing staff at Blundell Park and is now looking at a quartet of new faces.

Two of the players come from Notts County in the shape of Paul Riley and Kevin Nicholson - both of whom are left sided defenders - although the latter can also play in midfield.

Striker Marvin Robinson also comes in, after spending last season with Chesterfield.

The final face is Darren Watson - who arrives at the club from Conference outfit Margate.

Other trialists Paul Gaughan, Anthony Williams, Yannick Kamanan and Jean Gabbin are continuing to train with the club.

French trialists Denis D'Amico and Gilles Noto have both left the club.

Meanwhile, reports are also suggesting that former Barnsley star Clint Marcelle could be set to join the club on trial.
