Moniz confident of survival

Ricardo Moniz has stressed the importance of being positive as Notts County fight for their League One lives.

A year on from the 'Great Escape' engineered by Moniz's predecessor, Shaun Derry, the Magpies must dig their way out of trouble yet again. The club are two points from safety with three matches remaining, beginning with the home game against automatic promotion contenders Preston on Tuesday night. Moniz, who replaced Derry this month, told local reporters on Monday: "We must not be negative, we must stick together. I am 100 per cent confident we will succeed. "If you do not have that attitude then we might as well stay at home and the fans also. You have to go at something 100 per cent. A player on 99 per cent is no good. Even the best. It's only good when you are at 100 per cent. And that applies to all of us. "We must train like it's the last day and we must play the game like it's our last too." After Preston, Notts host Doncaster on Saturday in what Moniz has described as the club's "week of truth."
