Derry wants more of the same

Shaun Derry insists Notts County must keep reproducing this performance until the end of the season after a 2-0 win over Colchester.

Ronan Murray's superb seventh-minute strike opened the scoring before defender Haydn Hollis headed in his third goal in three games to double the lead. County had chances to extend it further after the break, but with other results going their way the victory means Derry's side climb out of the drop zone on goal difference - much to the manager's delight. "Each and every man, woman and child were magnificent and we could hear the support from the first minute to the last," Derry said. "That's how it has to be - all of us together and hope that we stay up together. "Ronan Murray is in a bit of form and he is a good player. "We missed him when we lost him through suspension after the Peterborough game. "It knocked him , it knocked his confidence and it knocked the team. "When he is on form he is a fantastic player for us and he works well with Jimmy (Spencer). "Let's not forget the other lads as well and if you look at the bench we've got Callum McGregor there waiting patiently, but everybody is together, which is so important. "Colchester put up a real fight and they are now only three points above us which has brought them into the equation."
