Keith Curle was pleased Notts County showed the character to come back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Sheffield United.
Dave Kitson marked his full home debut with a goal five minutes after the break when he met Ryan Flynn's cross with a header.
But substitute Lee Hughes grabbed County's equaliser, tapping in at the far post from Jeff Hughes' ball across the face of goal.
"Make no mistake, this is a very difficult place to come and play at," said Curle. "We had to try and quieten the crowd, play the game at our tempo and slow down any momentum they had. I thought in the first-half we did that.
"In the second-half they got the break and got the goal but there was great belief from our lads and we stuck to our game-plan.
"There is a never-say-die attitude which is growing game by game in the changing room. We also try and leave no stone unturned, giving the players as much information as we can."
