Robbo defensive after dismissal

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson defended his players after his side were again reduced to 10 men in a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.

Midfielder Alan Smith was sent off in the 19th minute after appearing to mis-time a challenge on Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter. Stephen Gleeson saw red in the Capital One Cup tie against Cheltenham while Antony Kay was dismissed in Saturday's home win over Oldham. Robinson said: "People are obviously going to look at us having three red cards in three games. But Stephen Gleeson's red card wasn't, that one here wasn't either. "At first I thought it was a sending off, but I've seen the replay and it wasn't. Smith's gone to ground, he missed the ball by centimetres, and there's no great malice in it. "But we've got to move past the sendings off and we've got to learn that it's going to be very difficult for us this season."
