Notts County manager Keith Curle is in no rush to add more new faces to his squad ahead of the forthcoming League One campaign.
Curle has signed eight players this summer but has expressed a desire to bring in two or three further targets.
Trialists mixed in with the contracted squad members during the opening week of pre-season and Curle is keeping a close eye on them in the build-up to Saturday's friendly with Buxton.
The Magpies boss is happy to play the waiting game so that he can secure the best available talent.
"If there was no room to bring anybody in I wouldn't waste their time. I won't have anybody hanging around the football club who I don't think warrants or merits being here," Curle told the club's official website. "But the door is always open and there's still money available in the budget to bring in further players. There's other avenues that are available to us as well, it's not always free transfers.
"There might be younger players at football clubs under contract that might need the experience to come out, some people are older players that have still got a year left on their contract that don't fit in at Championship and Premier League teams' plans. They might not be available to us as well but they might nearer to the start of the season because they will be trying to impress their managers to say they are part of the squads."
