Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott is hoping to extend the loan deal of Bristol City defender Christian Ribeiro. The Wales international has made five appearances for the Cumbrians since joining last month and is currently due to stay at Brunton Park until 2nd January. Ribeiro recently told skysports.com that he is keen to press his claims for first-team football under Robins manager Derek McInnes upon his return to Ashton Gate. However, he could be offered the chance to remain with Carlisle as Abbott also weighs up a loan extension for Sunderland midfielder Liam Noble. "Conversations have already been taking place," Abbott told the News & Star. "The players know my train of thought and I need to have an idea of what's going on in their minds. "I'm pretty certain I know where we're going with Chris and Liam. With Chris I'd like to do something a bit longer period to give him a bit more time. "We'll have a look at that in early January and with Liam, it will become clearer in the next week or so."
