Manager Martin Allen praised Notts County after they overcame Walsall 2-1 less than 48 hours after drawing with Juventus in Turin.
Goals from Lee Hughes, who also scored in Italy, and Cristian Montano helped County to an important win.
Allen said his boys had shown great spirit to get a win against Walsall so soon after.
He said: "To get a win after being in Turin on Thursday night is terrific. I think the game started about 11 at night.
"Then they all went out and played against players like that and they didn't get to bed until two o'clock in the morning, and they were up again at six in the morning to fly back.
"I haven't got Champions League players so they are not used to that, so for them to put in a performance like that with the fatigue and the mental energy and drain of playing against Juventus is superb."
