Midfielder to miss Cardiff clash

Portsmouth have failed in their bid to have Hayden Mullins' one-match suspension overturned. Pompey had appealed against the red card shown to Mullins during the 3-0 defeat by Coventry on Tuesday night. Mullins was controversially red-carded for handball in the penalty box during Saturday's 3-0 home loss to Coventry. Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill felt the decision was harsh and launched an appeal to have the red card rescinded However, the FA said on Thursday that the one-match ban would stand and that Mullins would be unavailable for Saturday's clash at Cardiff. "I'm obviously disappointed, the lads here had put together a really good case," said Cotterill "I didn't think it was even a penalty and that's the second time in three games that I think we have been harshly treated."
