Scunthorpe midfielder Garry Thompson has extended his stay at the club by penning a new deal.
The 29-year-old was due to be out of contract next month but the Iron were keen to retain his services after securing their Championship status.
The former Morecambe man will now remain at Glanford Park until 2012 and have the option of extending the deal by a further year.
