Tykes star pens three-year contract

Barnsley have handed a new three-year contract to influential winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce. The deal will ensure that the Jamaican international remains at Oakwell until the summer of 2011. The 25-year-old, who has two goals in seven Championship appearances this season, is delighted to have resolved any fears regarding his future. Campbell-Ryce told the club's official website: "It was a very easy decision to stay and I want to repay everything this club has done for me." The former Southend man joined the Tykes in 2007 and has quickly become an integral part of Simon Davey's first-team plans. The Barnsley manager said: "It's fantastic for everybody connected that Jamal has shown his commitment to our club by agreeing a new three-year deal. "Jamal has been in fine form since arriving from Southend last season and we are delighted that he'll be staying for at least the next three years."
