Veteran defender makes Meadow Lane return

Notts County have snapped up Derby defender Michael Johnson on a two-month loan deal. Johnson has dropped down the pecking order at Pride Park with the veteran defender having made his last appearance in early January. The 34-year-old spent a spell on loan at Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season and he has accepted the offer to join Notts County until 3rd May. Magpies boss Ian McParland was delighted to pull off the coup of luring Johnson back to Meadow Lane. "We've been keen to bring Michael to the club for some time, so naturally we're delighted to finally get him on board," said McParland. "Our fans know what he is about and I'm very sure he will be a fine acquisition to our squad between now and the end of the campaign. "His experience will be vital; we don't have too many old heads in the team - and that is something he will be able to bring to the team."
