Notts County have re-signed goalkeeper Saul Deeney just 12 months after his exit from the League Two side.
A contractual dispute meant the 23-year-old left Meadow Lane last summer, and he went on to memorably star for non-league Burton Albion in their fantastic 0-0 FA Cup draw with Manchester United.
Deeney had joined Walsall on trial after his contract with the Nationwide Conference side expired, but, after The Magpies signalled their interest, he opted to rejoin the club who gave him his big break in professional football.
After emerging from the youth ranks with County, the keeper went on to make 48 appearances before leaving due to confusion over whether he had rejected a new deal.
His first task will be to displace current number one Kevin Pilkington whose arrival signalled Deeney's departure 12 months ago.
Deeney will be joined at Meadow Lane by Daniel Gleeson, after the young right back impressed on his trial with The Magpies.
The 21-year-old defender worked with County boss Steve Thompson whilst at Cambridge and has now renewed acquaintances after signing for the League Two outfit.
